Biodiversity Specialist

Edward is a world leading expert in the field of business and biodiversity, with over 20-years’ experience of integrating biodiversity within decision making and operations of many of the world’s largest companies. Edward has supported clients to understand their potential impacts and dependencies on nature, and develop strategies to address them at site, and corporate levels. He has detailed understanding of frameworks including, Science-based Targets Initiative, and Taskforce for Nature Related Financial Disclosure. He has considerable experience of working directly with companies, developing widely used guidance (e.g. for IPIECA, SBTN, and ICMM) and reviews of corporate approaches (including publications on the use of Net Positive Impact, Nature Positive, and Zero Deforestation).

Edward’s passion is built from a lifelong fervour for the natural world. His experience has covered volunteer management at nature reserves around the UK, 15-years of tropical forest conservation in Southeast Asia, and the past 13 years with The Biodiversity Consultancy. His career is centred on the belief that successful conservation can only be achieved through effective partnerships between government, civil society and the private sector. In his free time Edward volunteers with conservation initiatives around Cambridge.
