Client need

We Value Nature, an EU Horizon campaign supporting businesses and the natural capital community to make valuing nature the new normal for businesses across Europe, wanted help to develop and deliver a train the trainer session for module 2. The WVN module 2 training relates to the scoping of natural capital assessments.
The aim of developing train the trainer material and sessions was to provide tips and recommendations on how to present and adapt the training material in a clearly for different contexts and audience types.

The challenge

Creating easily understandable but in depth materials for trainers with little prior experience of providing training

Setting out various tips and advice throughout the module 2 training material to help trainers make the sessions more interactive and engaging

Aligning the train the trainer tips with the speakers notes for the training

Developing a training course that could be fully delivered virtually with a mix of context and exercises and in-person.

The results

An adapted slide deck for the 3-hour WVN module 2 training on scoping a natural capital assessment setting out where the training can be adapted according to: the time available, with further examples, for sector and country participants, etc.

Producing an accompanying implementation guide

Delivering of two train the trainer sessions one of which was for participants as part of the World Business Council for Sustainability virtual impact roundtable.

What happened next

The train the trainer material has been launched online.

LBR’s Dr. Stephanie Hime continues to contribute to a number of public speaking engagements and run various training sessions.
